Solutions Director

Solutions Director is responsible for taking ownership of the technical engagement and success of our Members in their work with Linaro. Solutions Director needs to have the ability to communicate influentially at an appropriate level and work effectively with everyone from the CTO or executive a Member company to an individual member engineer and everyone in between. The Solutions Director has deep, hands-on experience with Linaro-related areas of software and hardware technology such as the Linux kernel, SoC’s, toolchain, as well as technical segment experience such as embedded, AI, automotive and/or Edge. The person in this role is also an open source champion and expert who has excellent interpersonal skills. This person advises members and prospective members in all areas of technical activities, architecture, and technical strategies necessary to help them to understand and take advantage of the benefits of Linaro technologies, services and solutions.

The person in this very senior role also assists from time to time with the technical aspects of business development activities involved with engaging new Linaro Members. 

Requirements (Skills/Experience/Qualifications)

  • Extensive client-facing engineering experience at all levels
  • Deep hands-on experience and practical application with Linux, Android, Open Source
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in customer facing technical leadership role
  • 3+ years of embedded software solution architecting and consulting roles with customers
  • 2+ years in evangelizing technologies and building / maintaining product engineering relations
  • Effectively articulate business value of an open source solution to business
  • Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, computer science or a related technical field
  • Technical account management and decision-maker influencer experience

  • Be a key technical bridge between Linaro global teams and teams 
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key individuals
  • Work with & report to the VP for daily member service operations and support business
